New people with empty accounts that are suddenly following me, I really need you to do something that looks like a human person. I’ve been here long enough now to remember the old wars, and you are coming into my home wearing the uniform of our enemies.

I am real close to just posting users in a callout if they fail the perception check.

How do I rig a Turing test so people have to prove they exist before they follow me. I am literally looking at your following lists to see if it’s a coherent set so I can guess if you contain organs.

If you are new: We aren’t trying to be assholes. We would love to be welcoming. I support your presence, and I don’t mind if you use a hollow blog to follow from. and then you use side blogs to post. That’s cool. You do you. But. Y'all. With all possible love: You are indistinguishable from the enemy right now, and we’re used to showing no mercy.

Just add a note. Make your blog name ‘stealthy follow blog’ or 'im new’ or 'i’m human stop blocking me’ and put a picture of a random object. I don’t need to know what you post about. But I am very worried you do not posses any bones, and you are hard failing on insight checks.

thinking about letting clark be written as scary without having to make him evil or morally grey

a lot of the time when people want clark to be frightening they make him evil, like in justice lords/injustice, or morally questionable, like how he dealt with zod in the dceu. but it would be equally cool to see a superman who’s the moral pillar of the justice league, who is kind and gentle and rescues cats out of trees, suddenly having a moment during a fight or a dangerous situation where you realize exactly how much he’s holding back. world made of cardboard etc but played much quieter/scarier. Or if we’re talking Alien Clark, having a moment where he forgets himself and does something extremely creepy. maybe he forgets to keep breathing. or something like that one panel where he forgets humans can’t see in the dark and scares the bejeesus out of a firefighter. uncanny valley cryptid clark.

idk I just think it’s Neat and would love to see more of it. if anyone has recs lmk :)

The weird recognition that Clark, without autism, still has to run ‘actlikeanormalperson.exe’ in his head and when he gets really involved with something he occasionally has to go through a checklist in his head-

  • Am I breathing?
  • Have I blinked?
  • Are my feet touching the floor?
  • Am I touching something typically fatal or painful?
  • Have I damaged the environment in some unexpected way?
  • Am I responding to sensory input not available to humans?

Oh … I’m not breathing…

And suddenly the Clark they know and love is there but for just a second they were in deep humanoid abomination/ uncanny valley territory and had no idea why…

It reminded me of this scene, Clark is still perfectly normal and heroic but he is Angry and he shows just how much he normally holds back and how deadly he’d be if he wasn’t holding back

Were I to direct a Superman movie I’d put in it something like “Clark gets hit by a car” twice.

Have some opening action scene where Superman shows up to stop crime and the robbers try to run him over at top speed.

Obviously it doesn’t work and Clark stops the car - wrecking it a bit and stunning the criminals inside but not harming them.

Then the scene repeats much later but this time Clark is distracted, stunned or suffering some phlebotinum effects - anything that causes him to not react.

He doesn’t catch the car or recoil from impact at all. He doesn’t budge. The car crashes into a completely immoveable obstacle and gets wrecked. The driver is seriously injured and Clark freaks out because usually he doesn’t allow this to happen. He consciously makes effort to limit the damage. Catching the car at all is not an effort to stop it - it’s a way to distribute the force behind impact and keep people alive

If your car doesn’t have crumple zone you better hope that Superman is your crumple zone.

!!!!! evil clark is BORING and LAZY when you’re that powerful you don’t have to be evil to be terrifying! all you have to do is be not paying full attention for a FRACTION of a second (via darkshrimpemotions)

[ID: Sketch dump of the Leverage OT3 Eliot Spencer, Parker and Hardion. Top left is Eliot and Hardison both looking at the same point ahead of them, Hardison smiling and Eliot looking grumpy. Top right is Hardison looking sadly at Eliot, who is turned away from him with his hair tied up and is looking a bit hurt. “Two good ol’ boys” is written above the top right image. Middle is Eliot cooking on a benchtop while Parker leans on the bench to watch and Hardison sits on his laptop some distance in the foreground. An arrow to Hardison says “Googling how to cook and ‘helping’” and an arrow to Parker says “Tasting the ingredients and 'helping’”. Bottom left is Parker and Eliot standing next to each other, Parker distinctly taller than Eliot and looking down at him, with Eliot looking grumpy. An arrow to Parker says “Heels -> Tall” and an arrow from her to Eliot says “Short cowboy”. Bottom right is Eliot striding forward, looking angry, and Parker standing behind him smiling. An arrow to Parker says “About to watch violence” and an arrow to Eliot says “About to do violence”. End ID]

Dressmaking in Paris, 1907.

I would like to point out what these women are wearing themselves. Because “what did WORKING women wear?!” is a refrain I hear a lot re: recreations of even the most basic historical clothing that has any visual interest at all

the lady on the far right has a brooch and a necklace! and some insertion lace on her blouse! the center-right lady in the plaid shirtwaist seems to be wearing a decorative necktie of some sort! all of them have sleeve puffs that are maybe a few years out of date, but not by much!

and these are working seamstresses! literally At Work!

working-class people have always loved beauty just as much as the rich. and found ways to incorporate it into their lives

it is SO FUNNY when you’re watching a show with horses in it and within the plot of the show the horses are “”””upset””” but the way they communicate this is by placing a nervous nickering sound bite over what is clearly a calm horse placidly performing a practiced trick

like clearly this is the correct and humane way to pretend a horse is upset and unhappy but it’s soooo funny like this guys ears aren’t even pinned back!!! he’s just vibing!!! dude did the least amount of rearing to get his apple treats and he can see his handler right behind the camera already reaching into the treat bag!! he’s getting a good grade in being a good little boy and his mommy is going to be so proud

See also: every “scummy sewer rat” used as set dressing in modern tv and film is a healthy, chubby lil boi with a nice shiny coat bc he lives a blessed little rat life full of fruits and nuts and tummy scritches

Or the big dogs in movies and TV that are growling and look angry except for the good boy tail wagging happy as a lark ready for treats for getting s good grade in being a big bad angy show doggy.

thirdeye1234:

A beautiful excerpt from the introduction of this fascinating piece, Podfic: Queer structures of sound by Olivia Johnston Riley:

Yawning on the bus ride home from work, you put on your headphones and press play on the 24-megabyte (MB) file labeled “chapter one” that is saved to your phone. A gentle, ambiguously gendered voice begins to tell you a story. It is a story you have read before, but you are too tired to read it now; you just want to listen. The sound is unfiltered, with the low buzz of an air conditioner and occasional mew of a cat in the background of the recording. For these twenty minutes, you are not alone, stuck on public transportation—you are sharing an intimate, sonic space with someone you have never met but who loves this fictional world as much as you do. The voice in your ear shapes the familiar words in ways you could have not predicted; you catch jokes you missed before, and the tragic rising narrative hits even harder as you mirror the emotion in the reader’s voice. The story’s familiar characters—characters from your favorite television show, reimagined first through fan fiction and now through the sonification of that story—are falling in love, right before your ears, like they were never allowed to on your TV screen. You keep listening as you arrive home, lingering at the door, the kitchen, doing mindless chores until the story comes to a close.
